Cray was a blue crayon who never stayed in the lines.
While others made neat pictures, Cray zoomed off the page over the edge, into the margins, onto the table.
“You’re messy,” said the red crayon.
“I just want to draw what I see in my heart,” Cray sighed.
One day, a child picked Cray up and began to draw a sky full of dancing stars and smiling moons all outside the lines.
The drawing was messy, wild, and full of joy.
“Look!” the child beamed. “It’s the most fun I’ve ever had”
The crayons stared. Then one by one, they joined Cray, colouring clouds in green and oceans in purple.
